Since 2016, Smidtje Canal Cruises has been a familiar face for canal cruises in Haarlem. Every day, we joyfully sail across the beautiful Spaarne river and through the historic canals. Starting March 2026, a new chapter begins for us: our trusted name will now become the face of all tourist canal cruises within the Smidtje Group.

Unity on the water and a refreshed website

Did you know that behind the scenes, we have been part of a family with other beautiful cities for years? The Smidtje Group has been operating canal cruises in our capital since 2015, and from March through September, you can join us during the lively Cheese Market season in Alkmaar.

To ensure excellent recognition for all our guests, we will be sailing under the exact same name across all cities from now on: Smidtje Canal Cruises. Our website, www.smidtjecanalcruises.nl, which we previously used exclusively for Haarlem, has been transformed into a central landing page for all three cities. While we already carried the name in Haarlem and Alkmaar, a name change was implemented in Amsterdam. With this, they officially said goodbye to their old name, Amsterdam Circle Line.
